Image Data Eraser

When I edit photos, I often notice that many of them contain EXIF and XMP metadata, such as the camera brand, ISO, aperture, and even GPS location information.
Not only do they increase the file size of images and slow down page loading, but they may also raise privacy concerns. This is a small tool that can batch-delete EXIF data from images, serving as a lightweight local image privacy cleaner.

1. What is included in this metadata?

1.1 EXIF typically contains

  • Camera Model, Manufacturer
  • Shooting Time, Resolution
  • Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed
  • GPS Location Information
  • Edit Software Name

1.2 XMP typically includes

  • Author and Copyright Information
  • Image description, keywords
  • Color Scheme

After compression, images are typically reduced in size by a few KB to several dozen KB, which helps optimize images on independent websites and speed up page loading times.

2. Features and Functions

  • 🔍 Check Metadata – Automatically scan EXIF / XMP
  • 🗑️ One-Click Cleanup – Safely remove all hidden attributes
  • 🔒 Privacy Protection – Remove information about the camera, time, and location
  • 📷 Batch Processing – Supports JPG, PNG, WebP, and other formats
  • 💡 Free and open source – No payment required, and no need to upload to someone else's server

5. Quick Tip

  • The program only readsinput For the images in this post, it’s best to save a copy of the original photo before editing (just in case you want to know when it was taken later on? 😉)
  • If Chinese characters appear as garbled text in the command line, first run chcp 65001 Run again
  • Need to batch-process a few hundred images? No problem—it runs pretty fast.
